How to Create a Wi-Fi QR Code

Share your Wi-Fi network with a scannable code — what you need and how to avoid common mistakes.

What you need

  • • Your network name (SSID) — exactly as it appears in your router settings.
  • • Your Wi-Fi password.
  • • Your security type — WPA/WPA2 (most common), WEP, or None (open network).
  • • Whether your network is hidden, if applicable.

Creating the QR code

Open the Wi-Fi QR code generator and enter your network name, password, and security type. If your network is hidden, enable the Hidden network option. The QR code appears in the preview as you type. Download it as PNG for digital display or SVG for printing.

Testing the QR code

  1. 1. Scan the code with your own phone before sharing it.
  2. 2. Confirm it connects to the correct network.
  3. 3. Test on both iPhone and Android — behavior varies by device.
  4. 4. If printing, print a proof and scan from the printed version.

Common mistakes

  • • Wrong SSID — the network name must match exactly, including capitalization and spaces.
  • • Wrong security type — selecting WEP when your network uses WPA will cause connection failures.
  • • Wrong password — a single typo makes the code useless. Double-check before printing.
  • • Hidden network not flagged — if your network is hidden, you must enable the Hidden network option.
  • • Password changed — if you change your Wi-Fi password later, the old QR code will not work. Generate a new one.

Security considerations

Anyone who can see the QR code can scan it and join your network. Place it where only intended people — guests, customers, attendees — can access it. For businesses, a guest network separate from your main network is recommended. Veyqora does not upload your Wi-Fi credentials; they are encoded entirely in your browser.
