How to Scan a QR Code
How to scan QR codes with your phone or from an image, plus what to do when scanning doesn't work.
Scanning with your phone camera
Most modern iPhones and Android phones can scan QR codes directly from the built-in camera app. Open the camera, point it at the QR code, and a notification or link appears on the screen. Tap it to perform the encoded action — open a website, join a Wi-Fi network, save a contact, and so on. You do not need a separate app on most current devices.
Scanning from an image file
If you have a photo or screenshot containing a QR code, you can decode it with Veyqora's scanner. Open the QR scanner, switch to the Upload image tab, and select a PNG, JPG, WebP, or GIF file. The image is decoded locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server.
Using Veyqora's camera scanner
Veyqora also includes a live camera scanner. Open the scanner, switch to the Use camera tab, and press Start camera. Point your camera at a QR code and Veyqora decodes it in real time. Camera frames are processed only on your device while the scanner is active — no video is recorded or uploaded.
What to do if scanning fails
- • Make sure the code is well-lit and in focus.
- • Move closer or farther away — some codes need distance to be read.
- • Clean the camera lens if it is smudged.
- • If the code is printed, check for damage, glare, or curvature.
- • Try an image-based scan: take a photo and upload it to the scanner.

Safety before opening links
When you scan a QR code that contains a URL, review the link before opening it. Veyqora's scanner shows the full URL and requires you to press Open link — it never redirects automatically. Be cautious with codes in public places that you did not create, and avoid entering personal information on unfamiliar sites.
