A Wi-Fi QR code encodes your network name (SSID), password, and security type into a scannable code. When a compatible phone scans it, the device offers to connect to the network instantly — no need to type a long password. It is ideal for cafés, hotels, offices, rentals, and home guests.

Wi-Fi QR code not working?
The phone won't connect
Check that the SSID matches your router exactly — including capitalization and spaces. A mismatched name is the most common cause.
Connection fails with password error
Verify the password is correct and that you chose the right security type (WPA/WPA2 vs WEP). A wrong security type can cause the password to be rejected.
Hidden network not found
Make sure you enabled the Hidden network option when generating the code. Without it, the scanner may not find the network.
The phone doesn't recognize the code
Some older phones do not support Wi-Fi QR codes natively. Test on a newer device, or ask the person to install a QR reader app that supports Wi-Fi codes.
Password changed since the code was printed
Static QR codes cannot be updated. If your password changed, generate a new QR code and replace the old printed version.
Scan-testing advice
Test the QR code with both iPhone and Android devices before printing. Some older phones may not support Wi-Fi QR codes natively. Keep contrast high and the printed size at least 3 cm wide. Place the code where guests can see it easily and include a short instruction like "Scan to join our Wi-Fi."
